Care Guide

Every Cielnaro piece comes with care information on its product page and on the garment label. Those item-specific instructions always take priority over the general guidance below. If your label or product page says something different, follow that instead.

Washing Your Dress or Set

The care instructions listed on our representative product pages call for either hand washing in cold water or a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. If your item's label confirms one of these methods, use it. Turn the garment inside out before washing to reduce friction against prints, embroidery, and lace trim.

Do not use bleach, harsh stain removers, or hot water unless your specific product page or label explicitly permits it. If you are unsure whether your piece can be machine washed at all, stick to hand washing.

Drying and Pressing

Hang the garment to dry on a padded hanger or a clothesline, away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry unless your product page states it is safe for that item.

One of our product pages mentions ironing on low heat if needed. That permission applies only to that item. For any other piece, check the label before applying an iron or steamer. When ironing is allowed, place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric, and avoid pressing directly over embroidery, lace, or metallic hardware.

Protecting Decorative Details

Several Cielnaro styles include embellishments that need extra attention during washing and storage:

  • Embroidery: Do not scrub or rub embroidered areas. Wash gently and reshape while damp.
  • Lace trim and patchwork panels: Keep lace away from rough surfaces, zippers, and Velcro during washing and storage to prevent snags.
  • Metallic grommets and fabric-wrapped rings: Wipe these with a dry soft cloth after wear. Avoid prolonged moisture contact, which can affect metal finishes.
  • Ruffles and tiered hems: Smooth ruffles flat before hanging to dry so they retain their shape.
  • Prints and dyes: Wash inside out and in cold water to reduce fading risk. Do not soak for extended periods.

Storing Between Wears

Hang dresses and sets on padded or wide hangers to avoid shoulder creasing and strap marks. If you must fold a piece, place it in a drawer without compressing embroidered or ruffled sections under heavier items. Keep stored garments away from damp areas and direct sunlight, which can weaken fibers and shift colors over time.

For two-piece sets, store the top and skirt together so you do not lose track of the matching pieces.

Spot Cleaning and Minor Spills

If you get a small spill on your garment, blot (do not rub) the area with a clean, damp cloth as soon as possible. For stubborn or unknown stains, stop and consult your product label or reach out to us before applying any cleaning agent.

When to Use a Professional Service

If your item has a large stain, a damaged embellishment, or a structural issue such as a torn seam near a lace-up closure or a broken grommet, a qualified garment cleaner or tailor is the safest option. Do not attempt to repair metallic hardware or reattach embroidery yourself.
